Mason Mannek coaching on the iceMason Mannek playing for the Utah Grizzlies

mason mannek

My name is Mason Mannek. I am an Utah local born in Herriman, Utah.

At the ago of 14 I moved to Colorado to play for the Thunderbirds program under the coaches of Adam Foote (Utah Mammoth Assistant Coach), Andre Tourigny (Utah Mammoth Head Coach, Joe Sakic (NHL Hall of Famer), and Angelo Ricci (Philadelphia Flyers Skills Coach.)

From there I played 4 years of Major Junior in the WHL for the Portland Winterhawks. And I was lucky enough to finish my playing career in the ECHL with the Utah Grizzlies.

I look forward to continuing to grow the game here in Utah on the coaching side of things and share all the knowledge I was blessed to learn along my journey!

Prior to his time with the Gamblers, Gibbons spent 4 years as an assistant coach at Bethel University NCAA DIII. During his time with the Royals, Gibbons helped coach the team to its first double-digit win season since 2010, the best win percentage in program history, the 2023-2024 MIAC Player of the Year selection, three 2023-2024 All-Conference players, and the combined No. 1 Penalty Kill in the nation combined across the 2021-2023 seasons.
